9 Home Remedies for Gas – How to Get Rid of Gas and Bloating?

Even though the gas is a natural reaction of the digestive system, sometimes it can strike at extremely embarrassing situations.

Use a teaspoon of baking soda in a half glass of water. Then, squeeze one lemon and stir the mixture. Some prefer to use only soda in a glass of water, so this is an option too.

2. Chamomile Tea

Chamomile is a herb with antispasmodic, relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties, and is known to work miracles with both gas pain and heartburn.

A bit of lemon and honey in your tea can make this beverage taste even better.

3. Cinnamon

Half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a cup of warm milk is quite enough for you to get gas relief. You can also add some honey to sweeten the taste.

A good alternative to this gas remedy is cinnamon tea. Make your healthy tea by adding some cinnamon powder in boiling water.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is used for many other digestive problems, including bloating and indigestion. Reducing gas is yet another of its secret powers.

Two teaspoons of this vinegar in some warm water should help you reduce the gas and the bloating. If you don’t have apple cider vinegar, you can also try a regular one.

5. Black Pepper Combo

Black pepper is one of the most effective home remedies for gas pain, mostly because of its healing abilities. It works  releasing hydrochloric acid that helps heal indigestion and acidity.

Take some black paper, coriander and dried mint leaves to make a nice mixture. One teaspoon twice a day is a great way to cure gastric irritation.

6. Ginger

Ginger works great with indigestion and gas. This gas remedy can help you get rid of the gas and prevent it from forming inside the stomach.

There are many ways to consume ginger. You can add it to your food, drink it in a form of tea or even chew a piece of ginger.

Additionally, you can use ginger essential oil by rubbing it on your stomach.

7. Warm Water

This may sound a bit unrealistic, but something as simple as water can be the most effective natural remedy for gas.

How? Warm water is a great way of reducing the toxins in your digestive system.

Drinking plenty of warm water during the day may just be one of your most effective home remedies for gas.

8. Garlic

Garlic has pungent healing powers that can stimulate the digestive system.

One way to consume this gas remedy is by consuming garlic soup. Just make sure that you use fresh garlic for better effects.

If you do not like garlic soup, you can always boil some garlic in water and add some cumin seeds and black pepper. When this beverage is cooled to room temperature, you should consume it 2-3 times a day.

9. Change in Diet

All the above home remedies for gas are effective, but it is always better to prevent something than to treat it. If you manage to pay attention to your nutrition, you may not have problems with gas.

Cut back on fatty foods, sugar and caffeine to keep your digestive system in its best condition.
